Is my Doctor in Network?

A better question would be “Does my doctor accept Medicare?” If they do accept Medicare, then they are “in network.”

“But doesn’t it matter which Medicare Supplement company I choose? Wouldn’t a more well-known company be accepted compared to this other company I have never heard of?”

Nope! It does not matter if you choose Aetna, AARP, Mutual of Omaha, Lumico, Western United Life, or any other Medicare Supplement company. That’s because they are all controlled and regulated by Medicare (a government agency).

It is important to note that some Medicare Supplement plans opt into the voluntary USA Senior Care Network. With these plans you can still see any provider (doctor or hospital) that accepts Medicare, but if the provider happens to be a part of the USA Senior Care Network it will save your insurance company money. As a reward, your Medicare Supplement plan will provide you a premium credit!
