Each plan is labeled with a different letter from A through N. Medicare Supplement Plans can only be used to pay for Original Medicare-related costs. To purchase in a Medicare Supplement, you must have Medicare Parts A and Part B. To enroll the best time is during the Medigap Open Enrollment Period. This six-month period begins at month you turn 65 or older and enrolled in Medicare Part B.  During this period, you can enroll in any Medigap Plan. If you decided to purchase after this period, you may have difficulty enrolling if you have health issues and will possibly go through medical underwriting. Coverage can be denied.
